With the evolving technology in the world and in Turkey, LCD monitors and televisions have taken the places of the CRT monitor and televisions. Since CRTs, which are regarded as waste any more, contain dangerous heavy metals such as lead, phosphorus etc., they are in the scope of hazardous waste and they must be recycled with special operations. Due to the lack of required processing technology and since scrap dealers collecting these wastes lack of necessary knowledge about the topic, these collected wastes are crushed manually with the method of disassemble and only the plastic, copper and metal parts, which are possible to be recycled, are taken and their tubes are casted away or left into the environment. The CRT monitors collected by the licensed facilities used to be sent to storage facilities with the glass tube part as a whole after the recyclable parts had been taken. This method used to prevent the recovery of lead in the glass as well as to fit a large volume of storage areas. Thanks to the technology we brought to Turkey in 2009, we provided the possibility of treatment of CRTs with the correct process. While the raw materials such as plastic and copper, arising as a result of the processing of CRTs, the glass tube parts are separated into two parts and after the phosphorus is removed, they are sent to the battery recovery facilities and thus enabled the lead in its content to be used.
